Birdwatching at Bukit ChinaLocated in the heart of Malacca town is Bukit China the oldest Chinese burial ground outside of mainland China. During the 1980s beautification of the hill was undertaken where many plants and trees were planted. Eventually various types of birds make their home on top of this ancient hill and other birds around the area feed on the various types of plants and wild fruits available there. The best time to observe the birds is during the middle of the year when many of the wild fruits are in abundance. Among the various kinds of birds that can be spotted are:White bellied Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster) - Lang Siput. White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) Pekaka Belukar. Rock Pigeon (Columba livia) Merpati. Peaceful Dove (Geopelia striata) Merbuk Aman. Pink-necked Green Pigeon (Treron Vernans) Punai Gading. Koel (Eudynamys scolopacea) Sewah Tahu.
